The ACFSWA Friendship Night and award presentation is a glamorous evening designed to help increase cooperation between Australia and China in trade, tourism and cultural awareness.
Key Note Speaker is Nobel Laureate Professor Barry Marshall.
Chinese Consul General Long Dingbin will also attend and make a short speech.

We are here to support and assist visitors from the People’s Republic of China and to take part in social welfare and education projects in the People’s Republic of China.

AN AMAZING DAY OF FRIENDSHIP AND CELEBRATION FOR ACFSWA MEMBERS, FRIENDS AND FAMILY AT BEAUTIFUL MARDALUP PARK
A beautiful sunny day in Perth sharing friendship, wonderful performances and delicious food with members, family and friends of the ACFSWA.
Every year the annual Xmas picnic gets better and better. This year the event was held at the amazing Mardalup Park reserve on the banks of the beautiful Swan River with fantastic views across the water to the OPTUS stadium and the fabulous Matagarup Bridge.
Everyone who attended had a great time and were thoroughly entertained by exquisite Chinese classical dance, spectacular Kung Fu demonstrations and extraordinary music with a beautiful rendition of the old favourite Aussie song ‘Click go the shears’.

THE ACFSWA FRIENDSHIP NIGHT 2020
ACFSWA 50TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION AND FRIENDSHIP AWARDS 2020 PRESENTATION
A glittering evening was enjoyed by all at the ACFSWA 50th anniversary friendship night and celebration awards. Held at the amazing Hyatt Regency ballroom, over 400 people were able to celebrate in style the 50th anniversary of the Australia China Friendship Society in WA. The society President, Nancy Chen, the ACFSWA Ambassador, MC Duncan Calder and the whole ACFSWA committee created a memorable evening for the 400 people that attended.
At the beginning of this year it looked very unlikely that the event would go ahead due to covid restrictions but fortunately for the society, the people of WA and the Chinese Australian community of our state they were able to stage this wonderful event and grow the friendship between Australia and China as a result.
The awards themselves are designed to celebrate and recognise the achievements by companies, individuals and organisations that through good works and strong initiatives grow friendly relations between our two countries.
The attendees were very fortunate to have some amazing entertainment from Zhang Jun and Harriet Marshall wonderful classical singing and also Ballroom Dancing with Steven and Jessica as well as some informative speeches by luminaries and high ranking government officials who were in attendance. The ACFSWA committee can be very proud of the event and the enormous good will that has been generated by this and previous friendship night celebrations which have grown from strength to strength since Nancy Chen instigated the program only 4 short years ago.
The ACFSWA Friendship night and Awards have grown in size exponentially and looks like continuing well into the future and is now recognised as one of the highlights of the year for many Chinese and Australian members of the community who look forward to coming together to celebrate friendship and congratulate those who have contributed to greater cooperation and amicable relations between our two great nations and trading partners.

COVID 19 EFFECTS ON OUR EVENTS
Naturally the virus and the gathering restrictions that have effected all walks of life have also dramatically changed the acfswa events program for 2020-21 & 22.
Things have opened up for events since the beginning of the pandemic thankfully (largely due to our local governments strict lock down rules when an outbreak occurs). With a vaccine roll out well under way and many in WA having had the AstraZeneca or Pfizer variants we can be comforted by the fact that our state (and the rest of the country) will be completely vaccinated soon. We strongly encourage all our members and fellow West Australians and the Australian Chinese community to get vaccinated as soon as possible so we can safely hold our many upcoming functions and events in complete safety.STAY SAFE EVERYONE.
